Ofsted Report
"The headteacher sets high expectations for everyone and leads by example. As a result, pupils are treated warmly, respectfully and fairly by all staff members and in return, pupils respond by being polite, courteous and very well-mannered."
(Ofsted report 2011)
The Head Teacher says:
I am delighted to share with you our latest report from Ofsted (October 2011). The report identifies the high quality of
education and the outstanding care that Queenswood offers.
The school's mission statement is "to offer our children a balanced education in a quiet, caring environment in which
they are able to reach their full potential, both academically and as people".
I am delighted that the report recognises that
"the school provides a good quality of education for its pupils and fully meets its aims."
Queenswood's Ofsted success is a testimony to the hard work and dedication of each member of the school community.
As headteacher I have a passionate enthusiasm to drive forward my vision for the school: this report is an official endorsement
of that vision, celebrating what we have achieved and giving us pointers to move forward for further growth.
My vision is that Queenswood provides a sound education for the children and helps equip them so that they will
take up a useful place in society as confident, caring, thoughtful, thinking people. These children are society's future.
The report recognises the success of our community cohesion here. I was thrilled that the report mentions what the children said
to the inspectors:
"Pupils say that their school is like a family; the school operates as a particularly inclusive community; pupils say
that no-one feels left out."
The partnership between staff, pupils and parents is of paramount importance: parents can trust that their child is respected
and in the hands of caring professionals:
"There are very good relationships between pupils and staff and this makes a significant contribution to pupils' progress.
Staff know pupils' individual needs well."
We are proud that the report recognises:
"Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, their behaviour and the provision for pupils' welfare, health
and safety are outstanding."
For parents, sending a child to a fee-paying school is an enormous financial investment. To know that your child is safe, happy
and secure is essential. It is also important that their education is sound. As Ofsted have reported:
"Due to an outstanding curriculum and good teaching, pupils make good progress. The school's data show pupils attaining
highly across all the core subjects in each year group."
I am very proud of this report and equally proud of the children, the staff and the entire community of Queenswood School. I invite you to read the report in full. Please click here to visit the Ofsted website where you can read the latest and previous reports in full.
