Sport
"The school provides a wide range of physical education activities."
(Ofsted report 2011)
Queenswood School's sports development programme has helped to stimulate self-confidence and ensure that all children
have the opportunity to take part in individual sports.
We have formed links with some local sporting groups who allow us access to their outside facilities
for outdoor games. In addition school also uses a large hall for indoor games, and Morley Sports Centre for weekly swimming lessons.
Swimming
During the weekly swimming lessons at Morley Sports Centre, the children receive expert instruction by fully qualified coaches and have the opportunity to gain certificates and awards as they develop their skills.
Football
The school has a football team which has played several matches against other schools in the local area, and this helps them to develop their skills as well as bringing them into contact with other groups.

Athletics
In the Summer term the children take part in the English Schools Athletic Association awards scheme.
The school also holds a traditional sports day each summer; all the children take part and represent their House.
Netball
The girls play a version of netball called "High Fives". They have enjoyed regular fixtures and training
sessions with other local schools.
Cricket
Cricket training takes place throughout the Summer term, and our players' abilities are rapidly improving.
Both girls and boys have taken part in cricket fixtures against other schools.
Rounders
The school has enjoyed several matches against other local schools. This game allows a mixed squad of girls and boys, thus
encouraging co-operation and good teamwork.

This is a newly-introduced sport that allows mixed teams of boys and girls.
Fixtures in this sport have been enjoyed with other schools.
