Our aim is to create an environment where every child is happy to learn and to provide them with a highly academic and well-rounded education, full of opportunities, so they leave our school as confident, talented individuals having acquired essential skills for life and a sustainable work ethic. We want our children to be happy in themselves and proud of what they have achieved, with the self-confidence, without arrogance, to succeed in all they choose to do.

We are proud of our academic performances and in supporting our students to achieve the best of their abilities. Last year 100% of Queenswood's Year 6 children achieved the nationally expected standards in Reading, Writing and Maths.

100% of Queenswood children went on to achieve above national level expectations - 100% in Reading; 75% in Writing and 100% in Maths. This reflects that all children are achieving their potential and our results are well above the national average.

We are rightly proud that our children are excellent readers: here is a link to our statement about reading for your further information. Like all good schools, we encourage parents to help us in that journey to proficiency by celebrating reading at home as well as in school

100% of our candidates achieved passes in the English Speaking Board examinations (100% were awarded Distinctions when these were last taken in 2020, before the pandemic )

Last academic year 100% of our candidates achieved passes in the examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music - including passes, merits and distinctions at Grades 1 to 4 in Singing, Piano and Theory.

In recent years our Year 6 leavers gained places at Heckmondwike Grammar School, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Wakefield, Wakefield Girls’ High School, The Grammar School at Leeds, Hipperholme Grammar School, Bradford Grammar School, Silcoates School and Fulneck School. We keep in touch with past pupils and many of them give us feedback about how well prepared they were for their high school experiences – we also send feedback forms to the on-going schools for this. Comments we receive confirm that the children settle in well and are well prepared for this demands and expectations of secondary school.

"Alongside their academic successes, pupils are very well prepared for life in modern Britain." Ofsted
